One of the most common types we put up are concealed fastener, lap seam panels. These panels can be run either horizontally or vertically. These are like the standing seam roof in that there are no fasteners exposed for water to leak through.
The image above shows the concealed fastener wall panels run horizontally at the CATE Center in Chapin, SC.
Exposed Fastener Panels
There are also exposed fastener wall panels. These panels are lapped over each other and screwed through the panels.
Aluminum Composite Panels (ACM Panels)
Aluminum composite panels are panels that have an aluminum skin on the front and back of the panels with a plastic core in between. These make the panels lighter and gives them flexibility.
We have our own CNC router table to fabricate our panels in house. We can fabricate & install ACM panels, or provide fabrication services for others. We have installed ACM panels on jobs in Columbia, and around the state including Charleston, Fort Mill, and Charlotte.
Insulated Metal Panels
Insulated metal panels are generally prefinished steel on the inside and outside with insulation between. These panels are most often used on warehouses where you need a little bit of insulation but don't want it exposed. These can be run horizontally or vertically. The picture below shows them run horizontally with a 1/2" reveal between panels on a school in Blythewood, SC.
Metal Plate Wall Panels
These panels are completely made of metal. There are no gaskets or sealants to go in the joints. These panels come manufacturered to the right size and shape and lock together. The picture below shows a mock up of these panels.
These can be exposed or concealed fastner systems, depending on whether or not extrusions are installed. These are a laminate panel, similar to the material used in bathroom partitions. These have a wide range of finishes, and can come in solid colors, or look like wood or stone.
